The Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. He/She is expected to keep the dishwashing area clean and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembles used kitchenware (e.g. utensils, dishes, plates) from the dining and kitchen area.
- Unloads and loads the dishwasher with the utensils to be cleaned.
- Washes particular delicate items by hand like china dishes, cutting boards, mixers, etc.
- Organizes washed kitchenware and kitchen appliances in a proper way.
- Cleans dishes manually and in dishwashers as and when required.
- Cleans the kitchen area like slabs, floor, etc. regularly.
- Cleans and sets up the cook station before meal preparation begins.
- Ensures that the food and condiments storage areas are thoroughly cleaned.
- Restocks the dining area with enough clean utensils particularly during peak hours.
- Manages the stock of cleaning supplies like dishwashing soaps, detergents, etc. Place orders of washing supplies when required.
- Checks the operation of the dishwasher regularly.
- Reports any performance or technical issue in the dishwasher immediately.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- A high school degree or GED is preferred
- Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts.
- Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
- Familiar with sanitation policies.
- Knowledge of operating industrial dishwashers and other dishwashing machines.
Skills needed for this role
The Dishwasher must have exceptional time management skills and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. He/She must have working knowledge of sanitation procedures and the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
