Web Editor

The Web Editor prepares content for blogs and other web pages, working closely with writers and site managers to craft readable and engaging content to drive site traffic and attract new readers. He/she requires an excellent grasp of grammar and punctuation along with a good sense of web writing principles and content standards. He/She also needs to know how to use content management systems and incorporate images into blog posts and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researches, writes, publishes and manages high-quality content inventively.
  • Establishes relationships with customers and colleagues to settle on new posts.
  • Works closely with the team members that are Web Designers and Developers.
  • Oversees visual layout of content including images, graphics, designs, videos, and artwork
  • Edits, proofreads and proposes improvements to written composed content.
  • Ensures the content is up-to-date and adheres to SEO guidelines.
  • Utilizes our Social Media pages for a better presence.
  • Complies with copyright and privacy regulations and controls.
  • Determines and tracks important KPIs
  • Tracks and analyzes website traffic to gauge prominence.
  • Stays informed with new trends in web technology.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications or similar relevant field
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress, Weebly, Joomla, etc).
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills with a demonstrable portfolio of published work
  • Experience with content creation software such as InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of best SEO practices and tools.
  • Detail Oriented & Creative thinker

Skills needed for this role

The Web Editor must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and be able to undertake research using a variety of sources. He/sHe must be able to alter their style of writing to reflect their audience and be able to simplify and explain complex issues and procedures
