The Shift Supervisor coordinates daily production activities in a company to facilitate high level productivity. He/She is responsible for achieving the desired end result of their company’s production processes. He/She also monitors the roasters to ensure that workers follow production schedules, and implement sanctions on workers who fail to abide by schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises production line operation in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Trains and coaches production line employees
- Conducts employee performance reviews
- Coordinates with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels
- Schedules and conducts shift meetings
- Responsible for meeting shift production goals
- Responsible for quality control
- Ensures a clean and safe work area
- Completes shift paper work
- Assists in production as necessary
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- A degree in business management or a related field
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety protocols
- Basic arithmetic knowledge to balance production cost, expenditure, and quantity
- Technical know-how of production machines for effective operation
Skills needed for this role
The Shift Supervisor must have natural leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer literacy skills. He/She must also have excellent time management skills and the ability to problem-solve.
