Account Director

The Account Director designs, implements, leads and grows client engagements and sets the charter for one or more of Merkle’s strategic accounts. He/She is accountable for overall account management activities and serves as leaders within a client team overseeing an account management team.

Key Responsibilities
Designs, implements, leads and grows client engagements and setting the charter for one or more company’s accounts
Establishes and builds client relationships and must work at gaining a thorough understanding of the client’s business
Plans budgets and activities for the assigned account
Manages records of sales, revenue, and other important data
Responds to complaints and manage issues to ensure customer success and satisfaction
Learns new product and services features and benefits
Presents reports on account progress, quotas, and goals to senior leadership and stakeholders
Provides feedback to account members so that they can improve performance
Establishes and maintains strong, strategic partnerships with the client by ensuring the successful execution of deliverables and putting forth recommendations in the company
Ensures team members receive the training and resources they need to effectively carry out their work

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; Master’s degree in Business
Successful previous experience as an Account Director and Sales Coordinator for more than 5 years
Sound understanding of progress budgeting and reporting
Excellent computer skills and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office

Skills needed for this role
The Account director must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to devise and implement strategies to benefit both their company and their client. He/She must have responsibility for the management of company accounts, along with the planning and direction of any marketing campaigns. He/She must take overall charge of the client account and play an essential team-leading role, delegating projects and monitoring workflow.
