Administrative Assistants perform general clerical tasks, generally on behalf of a leader in the organization. They day-to-day life as an administrative assistant includes coordinating various calendars, taking phone calls and messages, sending emails, prepping for large meetings and presentations, capturing notes in meetings, and many other related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc
- Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed
- Greets visitors and point them in the right direction, answer inquiries, and create a welcoming environment
- Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Prepares communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
- Develops administrative staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities
- Coordinates staff travel arrangements including transportation and accommodations
- Maintains computer and manual filing systems
- Carries out general clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. associate’s degree in Business Administration preferred
- 2-3 years of clerical, secretarial, or office experience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
- Good computer skills including Word, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint
Skills needed for this role
Administrative Assistant must have strong verbal and written communication skills and must be comfortable with routinely shifting demands. He/She must have high degree of attention to detail and possess knowledge of general office equipment.
