Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager is responsible for implementing workflow procedures based on direction from the company’s General Manager. His/Her duties include supervising employees during day-to-day tasks, providing customer support in escalated situations and managing the overall workflow of a workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts employee performance reviews
  • Ensures compliance to organizational standards, including safety standards and client or customer communications
  • Monitors departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Mentors sales staff to maintain company standards in providing excellent guest services
  • Assists the general manager in organizing, planning and implementing strategy
  • Creates and delivers sales and financial reports on a predetermined schedule
  • Develops strategies for better workplace efficiency and goal achievement
  • Supervises employees and provides additional training and coaching as needed to ensure everyone is performing their job properly
  • Manages daily aspects of the department and its staff to ensure projects are completed and goals and customer needs are met
  • Devises and sets up objectives to boost company productivity
  • Monitors and provides feedback to managed staff to effect improvements in organizational goals

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree in business administration or a field related to the industry
  • More than 5 years proven experience as Assistant Manager
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, mission, leadership, and planning needs of the organization preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Industry-specific licenses and certificates may be preferred
  • Proven leadership skills with a history of effective management

Skills needed for this role

The Assistant Manager must have strong problem-solving skills, great interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. He/She must have strong oral and written communication skills, knows to manage his/her time well and has the ability to work well under pressure. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are also essential for this role.
