Butler

The Butler manages everyday expenses and running of the property. A Butler will be charged with household upkeep, supervision of staff, and hosting of guests. He/She manages budgeting, the hiring and dismissal of staff, and ensuring the pristine maintenance and running of the household.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Maintains cleanliness of all facility spaces
  • Greets guests upon arrival
  • Ensures the consistent appearance of spaces across the facility
  • Fosters a welcoming environment for guests
  • Anticipates and meets a wide array of guest needs
  • Assists with planning and delivering complementary services
  • Notes special guest accommodations
  • Processes transactions, including check-ins, using point of sale system
  • Maintains working knowledge of facility floor plan, including emergency exits
  • Inspects facility spaces before guest arrival/following the departure
  • Furnishes emergency plan upon request
  • Updates guest records as necessary
  • Assists with replenishing inventory, including cleaning supplies and dishware

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A high-school diploma or GED qualification
  • Diploma in hospitality, catering, or culinary arts
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in hotel management is advantageous
  • Certification in Safety Management or Food Safety a plus
  • Knowledge about wines, cookery, and dining protocols
  • Expert in planning, purchasing, and maintaining supplies and inventories

Skills needed for this role

The Butler must have efficient multitasking and organizational skills, strong interpersonal communication skills. He/She must have the ability to delegate activities and manage others and must have outstanding client-relations skills and professionalism.
