Construction Manager

The Construction Manager is responsible for the practical management and planning of every stage of a construction project. He ensures building projects are completed safely, within budget and on time.He oversees schedules of work and delegate tasks to your team to ensure that each phase of a build goes to plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates a project from start to finish, including organising the schedule of work, costings and budget
  • Oversees the logistical requirements of a project
  • Prepares and submits construction project budget estimates
  • Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices
  • Ensures the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
  • Represents your company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
  • Coordinates and supervises the building of residential, commercial, industrial, and civic structures
  • Deals with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project
  • Liaises between engineers, architects, and others working on the project

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required
  • Proven work experience as a Construction Manager for more than 5 years
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, including logistics, procurement, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of construction operations and equipment
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts

The Construction Manager must have leadership skills and an ability to motivate your team to ensure a high standard of work. He must have resilience and problem-solving skills in order to overcome unexpected challenges during the construction process. Having the ability to make decisions under pressure and strong attention to detail for conducting site inspections and managing complex contracts are essential for this role.
