The Construction Manager is responsible for the practical management and planning of every stage of a construction project. He ensures building projects are completed safely, within budget and on time.He oversees schedules of work and delegate tasks to your team to ensure that each phase of a build goes to plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates a project from start to finish, including organising the schedule of work, costings and budget
- Oversees the logistical requirements of a project
- Prepares and submits construction project budget estimates
- Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices
- Ensures the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
- Represents your company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
- Coordinates and supervises the building of residential, commercial, industrial, and civic structures
- Deals with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project
- Liaises between engineers, architects, and others working on the project
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required
- Proven work experience as a Construction Manager for more than 5 years
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, including logistics, procurement, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Excellent knowledge of construction operations and equipment
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
