Content Writer

The Content Writer is responsible for using the written word to share information about a client’s products, services or industry. His/Her duties include preparing document outlines, updating content based on client edit requests and proofreading their work for tone, style, clarity, grammar and formatting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completes writing projects, meeting deadlines and following content requirements in terms of style and project specifications
  • Coordinates with other content crafters to ensure standards
  • Produces well-researched content for publication online and in print
  • Conducts research on any given topic
  • Includes and optimizes all content for SEO
  • Researches and evaluates competitor marketing with a focus on content
  • Monitors and analyzes the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement
  • Utilizes industry best practices and familiarity with the organization’s mission to inspire ideas and content
  • Works with customers to define their content needs
  • Proofreads the articles before publication
  • Revises content whenever customers or clients request changes
  • Prepares reports on project performance

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, linguistics, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with web publication techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management

Skills needed for this role

The Content Writer should possess excellent writing skills, have an eye for detail, and should develop content that attracts the target audience. He/She must have the familiarity with each client’s requirements and the company’s brand image, products, and services. Knowledge about tone, grammar, sentence structure, and word choice to apply styles for each assignment is required for this role.
