Copywriter

The Copywriter produces engaging, clear text for different advertising channels such as websites, print ads and catalogs. His/Her duties include researching keywords, producing interesting written content and proofreading their work for accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writes clear and error-free content for a website that reflects the company’s voice
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends
  • Meets with clients to understand their message, brand voice and target audience
  • Writes copy for a variety of media including social, print, video, and online
  • Interprets creative direction and technical information and turning them into persuasive copy concepts
  • Familiarizes oneself with the product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
  • Interprets creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on assigned brands
  • Collaborates with creative, product, marketing, and legal to assess project needs and help with messaging

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, linguistics, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Proven work experience as a Copywriter
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with web publication techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management

Skills needed for this role

The Copywriter must be highly creative and imaginative, and curious about clients’ products or services. He/She must be skilled in writing clear, concise and grammatically correct copy. Having the ability to understand the different language styles that appeal to various target markets is also essential for this role.
