A Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial planning and analysis of a company, allowing the organization to make well-informed commercial decisions. A Financial Analyst should determine the best use of resources to achieve business objectives. They will be expected to produce regular reports using financial data, and work collaboratively across the entire finance team to analyze business performance and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzes current and past financial data
- Looks at current financial performance and identifying trends
- Prepares reports on the above information and communicating the insights of these reports to the wider business
- Consults with the management team to develop long-term commercial plans
- Suggests budgets and improvements based on the above information
- Explores different investment opportunities
- Develops financial models and providing financial forecasts
- Develops initiatives and policies that may improve financial growth
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- A university degree preferably in Finance, Economics or Mathematics.
- Experience with statistical analysis and financial forecasting
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify data patterns
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Abreast of industry updates
Skills needed for this role
A Financial Analyst must have strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling, excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills, attention to accuracy and detail required. He/She maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications
