Preschool Teacher

The Preschool Teacher is a childcare professional who takes care of and educates students around three to four years old. His/Her main duties include teaching children about basic fundamentals, like numbers, color and shapes, helping children build their social skills and keeping the classroom clean and safe for all of the students and Teachers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaches basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
  • Engages with young children in activities that are age-appropriate whilst bearing educational merit
  • Works with students one-on-one or within groups, depending on the subject matter and your students’ needs.
  • Inspires children to communicate with each other in a friendly manner
  • Maintains a positive mindset toward child learning and social-emotional development.
  • Provides weekly schedules for children and parents.
  • Monitors children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing
  • Monitors students for any emotional or developmental warning signs and notifies their parents.
  • Encourages creative thinking and learning
  • Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities.
  • Engages with young children in activities that are age-appropriate whilst bearing educational merit

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Education or related field
  • Certification as a Preschool Teacher is preferred
  • Relevant experience as a Preschool Teacher for more than 3 years
  • Strong knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children
  • Teaching credentials a major plus

Skills needed for this role

The Preschool Teacher must be calm, friendly, and have a reliable temperament. He/She must have the balance between being a creative and critical thinker. He/She must portray excellent communication, instructional, and mediation skills and must have a solid knowledge of child development principles and preschool education methods.
