Security Manager

The Security Manager oversees asset protection for businesses and companies, from the protection of people and staff to the prevention of theft and inventory loss. He develops and implements security standards and ensures that they are followed by all company staff. Security manager is in charge of managing a budget for security operations and hiring security staff.

Key Responsibilities

Identities and protects company assets through the development and implementation of security protocols
Plans and develops the overall security strategy for our company
Writes or reviews security-related documents, such as incident reports, proposals, and tactical or strategic initiatives.
Reviews financial reports to ensure efficiency and quality of security operations.
Attends meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
Makes sure that staff follow security procedures and guidelines through training programs and assessments
Conducts weekly inspections of security lighting, door access systems, fire alarms and all secure entrances and doors within the building.
Coordinates security operations or activities with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies.
Prepares surveillance equipment maintenance schedules and facilitating repairs in a timely manner

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

High school diploma; Further education in security administration or similar field will be an asset
Previous experience working as a security manager, security officer or other security-related job
Ability to monitor surveillance systems and respond to emergency situations
Availability to respond to security alerts outside of business hours.
Ability to traverse various areas of the facility to conduct inspections and plan security procedures.
Thorough knowledge of security threats and the available protective systems.

Skills needed for this role

The Security Manager possesses extensive knowledge of surveillance techniques and experience in a similar role. A top-notch security manager will be someone whose security expertise results in a safe and well-protected environment. Strong communication and language skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with customers and employees at every level. He must regularly correspond via verbal communication and letters, emails, memos with regulatory agencies, law enforcement, visitors and management.
