The Strategic Planner participates in the planning of business strategy for medium and large-sized corporations. Strategic planners are professionals who help in the creation of business strategies for organizations. He/She develops and directs the strategic and long-range goals of the organization including proposals to enter new markets and to expand existing market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzes an organization’s goals and objectives
- Identifies areas where improvements can be made in the company
- Collaborates with executives and managers to develop long-range, strategic goals for the organization
- Serves as negotiator with third parties for potential mergers or product acquisitions
- Prepare reports on strategy ideas for senior management
- Collaborates with market researchers to conduct market research as a part of forming business strategies
- Makes presentations on the research conducted and its findings
- Conducts market research and analyzes market and industry trends
- Keeps track of the effectiveness of strategies and makes changes when necessary
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or a related field
- Proven work experience as a Strategic Planner
- Proficiency with office technology and equipment, including fax machines, printers, copiers, scanners, and computers
- Thorough understanding of business administration, management, and business forecasting strategies and techniques
- Excellent knowledge of industry strategies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
