Supervisor

The Supervisor is responsible for managing the workflow of their team or department by assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results and reporting to senior management. He/She contributes to the efficiency of their department by reviewing and improving processes and setting targets for their teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities
  • Oversees the day-to-day performance of employees
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results
  • Plans workloads, allocating tasks and monitoring progress against targets
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Understands of planning, shipping, management, and inventory systems
  • Manages daily schedules and track the progress of deliverables
  • Prepares and presents of reports on productivity, staffing, effectiveness, and success

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or other relevant industry field is preferred
  • Professional certification in management is preferred
  • Proven previous work experience as an Administrative Supervisor
  • Thorough knowledge of management theory and its practical applications in the workplace
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other departments
  • Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service
  • Proficient using Microsoft Suite and other data entry software

Skills needed for this role

The Supervisor must have the ability to recruit, interview, select, orient, and train new employees. He/She must be skilled at motivating others to grow and be better; elevating the team. He/she must be quick and provide appropriate resolution of any and all challenges, discrepancies or miscommunications.
