The Travel Agent should be passionate about seeing the world and helping others do the same. This role involves planning holidays, suggesting travel destinations, maintaining client files, and managing large-scale events. He/She should keep the company’s clients satisfied and loyal for future services.
Key Responsibilities
Arranges flights, insurance and accommodation
Uses a booking system to secure holidays
Collects and processes payments
Advises clients on travel arrangements, e.g. visas and passports
Sends out tickets to clients
Keeps clients up to date with any changes
Deals with complaints or refunds
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality or relevant field.
Customer service experience is preferred
Personal experience with both domestic and international travel is considered advantageous
Ability to understand clients travel goals and needs and exceed their expectations
Proficient with data entry and Microsoft Suite
Experience processing payment information and working with confidential information
Ability to locate the ideal travel options for clients upon a scheduled meeting detailing their travel aspirations
Skills needed for this role
The Travel Agent must have exceptional organizational skills. He/She must be fluent in English, bilingual is preferred for communication with clients internationally. Having excellent sales and interpersonal skills are also required for this role.
