Electronic Technician

The Electronic Technician oversees various types of electronic systems and equipment that includes designing new components, troubleshooting and repairing existing systems. He/She applies their knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematics, electronics operations, and functions of electronic parts to perform service and installations in electronic manufacturing companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tests and implements electrical systems and products based on specifications
  • Monitors maintenance and inspection plans
  • Repairs and maintains electronic systems as needed
  • Performs system testing to evaluate performance and functionality
  • Maintains inventory control of electronic components and tools
  • Recommends upgrades and modifications to improve system performance

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or some college coursework in electronics or engineering
  • Completion of a certificate program in the field
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools like soldering equipment

Skills needed for this role

The Electronic Technician must have excellent ability to solve complex problems and must have top organizational skills and attention to detail. He/She must have analytical and critical-thinking skills as well as teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
