The Fashion Editor oversees the production of all content. He/She ensures the articles, photos, and topics that are covered are consistent with the company’s overall values and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Decides on story ideas and themes, along with the editor-in-chief, to meet audience preferences
- Liaises with photographers, models, makeup artists and costume designers and choose photo-shoot locations
- Oversees layout (artwork, design and photography)
- Collaborates with writers, check content and edit articles
- Continuously searches for latest fashion trends to stay ahead of competitors
- Attends fashion shows, meet with designers and visit retail stores to stay up-to-date
- Suggests new fashion products, such as outfits, accessories, makeup and beauty supplies
- Boosts your social media activity and keep in contact with industry professionals
- Meets deadlines and budget requirements
- Ensures all team members are in sync with the latest trends
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Journalism, fashion design and fashion editor or related field
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Fashion design
- Proficient with MS Office, InDesign, Photoshop or other publishing tools
- An existing network of photographers, models, media professionals, etc. is advantageous
- An extensive portfolio of fashion-related work
- Excellent visualization skills to be able to bring ideas to reality
- Extended experience in copywriting, editing, and proofreading.

The Fashion Editor must have good time-management skills,ability to work to strict deadlines, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. He/She must have great interpersonal, communication skills and excellent leadership and negotiation skills
