Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. He/She is responsible for cleaning of assigned facilities and some minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Makes and installs new furniture or equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance.
  • Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Checks control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Handles basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Conducts maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Responds to and completes tenant or supervisor maintenance requests.
  • Diagnoses mechanical issues and corrects them.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Worker for more than 3 years
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • In depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

Skills needed for this roles

The Maintenance Worker must have the ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers. He/She must have excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to use hand tools and power tools.
