Strategic Planner

The Strategic Planner participates in the planning of business strategy for medium and large-sized corporations. Strategic planners are professionals who help in the creation of business strategies for organizations. He/She develops and directs the strategic and long-range goals of the organization including proposals to enter new markets and to expand existing market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzes an organization’s goals and objectives
  • Identifies areas where improvements can be made in the company
  • Collaborates with executives and managers to develop long-range, strategic goals for the organization
  • Serves as negotiator with third parties for potential mergers or product acquisitions
  • Prepare reports on strategy ideas for senior management
  • Collaborates with market researchers to conduct market research as a part of forming business strategies
  • Makes presentations on the research conducted and its findings
  • Conducts market research and analyzes market and industry trends
  • Keeps track of the effectiveness of strategies and makes changes when necessary

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or a related field
  • Proven work experience as a Strategic Planner
  • Proficiency with office technology and equipment, including fax machines, printers, copiers, scanners, and computers
  • Thorough understanding of business administration, management, and business forecasting strategies and techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of industry strategies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
